Eddy retires as Chairman of SHAPA (April 2011)

This month has seen Eddy Spires, Managing Director of Dustcheck, retire as Chairman of industry association SHAPA (Solids Handling and Processing Association).

Eddy became Chairman in 2007 and his four years in the position have seen a lot change – both in the economy and technology.

“SHAPA's membership has remained strong through the recent 'turbulent' times and is testament to the constant improvements and innovations coming out of our industry. We've successfully developed a strong export forum and have stayed at the forefront of legislation changes including new environmental and machinery directives,” said Eddy.

Eddy will continue as a member of SHAPA's council and he's looking forward to making way for new blood as Rob Hudson, Managing Director of Spiroflow will assume the post of Chairman from April 2011.

“The Association is in a strong position, with money in the bank that's working hard for the members and a strong council who all demonstrate natural business acumen. We've played a key part in our members successes as we've recognised the value of inter-trading, networking and not to mention the best practice we share through seminars, forums and research,” he added.
